What Remains Is What We Carry

What Remains Is What We Carry, is an installation that gives form to grief as a sacred, lasting presence. It invites the visitor into a quiet space where memory lingers and the weight of loss is deeply felt.

The work was rooted in a personal experience. The process of creating something tangible is a way to hold onto what felt like it was slipping away. While also opening up that vulnerability, offering a quiet space where others might feel seen in their own silence.

The project explores how traditional symbols of grief are reflected and reinterpreted by personal, intimate experiences – suggesting that grief is not universal, but rather shaped by the quiet, individual ways we remember and feel. Each element unfolds into a narrative that grows heavier through the space. It creates a room for reflection – through textures and forms that embody presence and absence.

What remains is what we honour. What remains is what we carry.
