Lamina and Stratum by Yaen

Yaen is a conceptual footwear collection that explores how architectural principles—structure, form, and shadow—can be translated into wearable design. Rather than approaching footwear as purely functional, the collection positions it as sculptural and interactive.

Divided into two lines, Lamina and Stratum, each design draws from distinct architectural ideas. Lamina references building skins, using layered, thin structural surfaces to evoke lightness and transparency. Stratum is inspired by architectural cross-sections, exposing internal frameworks and experimenting with volume, rhythm, and depth.

Both lines explore modularity and transformation. Deconstructable forms and interchangeable elements invite the wearer to adapt and actively engage with the shoes.
With a clear visual direction and strong attention to material construction, Yaen presents a footwear collection shaped by architectural thinking. It translates concepts of movement, layering, and structure into a distinct, fashion-forward aesthetic.
