I love you, but don’t tell me about your dreams

During REM sleep, everyday events and logic are restructured and shaped into narratives of a different kind of logic, presented to us as dreams. Within this realm, time, space and narratives can be unclear, liquid and nonlinear. My art depicts everyday events and objects, that are both recognizable and strange, seemingly appearing in the wrong places. Together these images form illogical narratives, inviting the viewer to tap into the kind of understanding that is used to navigate the realm of the unconscious. I work on patiently and meticulously identifying and stretching the boundaries between the realistic and the surrealistic, the conscious and the unconscious, the realm of logic and the realm of dream.
