In this tragicomical novella you are taken along in a grieving process full of nostalgia, grilled cheeses, rivaling snack bars, caterpillar-like creatures from a piano and a dog named Spijker.
When her partner Jonas suddenly passes away, the main character of ‘Gerinkel’ returns to the small village where the both of them grew up as misfits. Among the eccentric villagers that look down on her, butchers with stubby noses, her well-meaning mother and the flyers for the upcoming village festival, she tries to find out how to cope with this loss, her memories and herself.
