Cycle’ is entirely made out of found footage as well as my own films. It contains footage that I collected from archives, YouTube, movies, other artworks and my own archive. Through recycling other people’s work as well as my own, the film explores themes such as originality, postmodern culture and appropriation.
In this installation the film is projected onto mosquito nets , which gives it many layers.

Our postmodern state of culture forces us to give new meaning to the concept of originality. Within my practice I test the boundaries of what it means to be original. Through found footage, archived footage, movies and other people's art I try to experiment and create new artworks. Other artist's works serve as the foundation for my own art. I believe our culture would develop in a much more interesting way if we shared creative intellect freely, instead of gatekeeping it with copyrights and patents.
